Rav Peninim

These are my notes (or השגות) on R' Eliezer Melamed's Peninei Halacha, Hilchos Tefilah.

My motivations for this publication are explained at length in the introduction, although as this and the entire sefer is in Hebrew I will just clarify here that the aim is not, chas v'Shalom, to somehow put down R' Melamed or his fantastic achievments. I state explicitly that in my mind, for one looking for a fairly comprehensive guide to halacha (not just concentrated on one topic) in layman's terms of today, Peninei Halacha is second to none. I have also notified those responsible for the Peninei Halacha publications and received their kind blessing.

The appendix I have written is almost an exact Hebrew translation of my first post on this blog, How does halacha work?

Even more than usual, I of of course would be delighted to hear any feedback or questions, especially constructive criticism.

So here it is, for the time being available on the Internet exclusively via this link:

I may subsequently set up a separate site for this, but unless there is demand for it I have no plans to publish this in printed form.

  1. Unfortunately the link does not work. Apparently the file is "in the owner's trash".

    1. Apologies, not sure how that happened. It should be working again now.
